SENIOR MAINTENANCE TEAM LEAD

We are looking for an experienced and professional horticulturalist to serve as our Senior Maintenance Team Lead. This position assists in leading our Maintenance Team Members and fostering a culture of education and exceptional client care. This position is crucial to the success of the department and is responsible for researching new and innovative organic maintenance practices, training and mentoring our team members for professional growth and development as well as ensuring all of our landscapes are Exceptional.

Responsibilities:
- Makes exceptional landscapes thrive by managing the Team Leads and Team Members while working alongside them to implement services for each site.
- Assists the Maintenance Department Lead with administrative and people management tasks such as timekeeping, expense approval, performance management and employee relations.
- Explores and researches products and maintenance practices to pursue the best and most effective methods for organic maintenance.
- Coordinates all organic product procurement, maintains inventory and trains team in application and best practices of products.
- Provides horticultural expertise, including plant knowledge and IPM, to the team and clients.
- Proactively establishes and supports a committment to job site safety. Works in conjunction with Safety Lead and Safety Committee to establish safe work practices.
- Seeks solutions to steward our landscapes as they mature and change.
- Builds and maintains their knowledge of each client landscape and works with the Project Manager and Team Lead to establish a service plan.
Pay range for the position: $36.83-$46.00
Schedule: Monday though Friday 6 a.m.-3 p.m.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, natural or environmental sciences or a related field and a minimum of 5 years' experience as a landscape or gardening professional is required. In lieu of a degree a minimum of 6 years of professional landscape or fine gardening experience along with 2-3 years' supervising, coaching and mentoring employees is required.
- Estate gardening experience is a preferred.
- Must have good working knowledge of MS Office. Smartsheet knowledge a plus.
- Must have a strong Plant ID and IPM knowledge specific to the Pacific Northwest plant palate.
- Must have working knowledge of various irrigation systems.
- Strong ability to read plan sets and specifications, as well as the ability to quickly sketch details for clarification and review.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Committed to Organic Maintenance practices.
- Certification as a Professional Horticulturalist is a preferred.
- Must be able to foster relationships with both team members and clients.
- Valid WA driver license.
