Landscape Maintenance Team Lead

Nussbaum Group is searching for an experienced landscape professional to join our Maintenance Department as a Maintenance Team Lead. This position will lead a crew in the care of Seattle’s premier landscapes using organic methods. You will work hands-on while guiding your team to deliver high-quality results with efficiency and purpose. As an employee-owner, your leadership will play a vital role in cultivating both our gardens and the collective success of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in daily organic landscape maintenance tasks, and special projects
  • Maintain high aesthetic and horticultural standards across all assigned properties
  • Motivate and guide crew members to work efficiently and move with purpose
  • Provide hands-on training in organic gardening methods, tool safety, and proper equipment use
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Project Managers to address client requests on site and execute special projects as needed
  • Accurately track materials used and crew hours through digital tools and systems
  • Represent the company while communicating with clients and managing job sites

  • A passion for organic gardening and working outdoors year-round in scenic landscapes

  • Strong situational awareness to ensure safety and efficiency

  • Available 40–50 hrs./week during peak season, and 30–40 hrs./week in the off-season
  • Must possess a valid WA driver's license and the ability to drive a box truck

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a landscape professional. A degree in Forestry, Horticulture, or Environmental Science is preferred but not required
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience leading teams successfully is preferred
  • Strong plant ID knowledge specific to the Pacific Northwest plant palate
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Bi-lingual English and Spanish speaking a plus
  • Basic irrigation knowledge a plus
  • Committed to Organic Maintenance practices
  • Ability to show working knowledge of tools/equipment/practices etc
  • Good physical condition and endurance; able to lift 50lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to utilize technology daily for time cards, tasks lists, and purchases
  • Must have reliable transportation to work

Pay range: $27.69-35.00, commensurate with experience

Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
